Quality
Control Checks at different points to make sure we deliver the "Right"
hose, "Everytime" !
- All batches after being mixed, and before they go in for
production are checked for hardness and specific gravity, and only
if found ok, are processed further.
- While mixing, the worker mixes as per the formula card, and the
supervisor checks batch weight 100% to check whether it is as per
the formula. The supervisor also, at random, checks the mixing of a
batch from start to finish, to see if the worker is mixing in
correct quantities.
- While Calendaring, every lot is checked thickness as per the
thickness of the hose and number of plies required.
- During production we do the following checks:
- Worker checks the surface of tool before applying 1st ply
- Worker makes the hose only as per the job card in front of him,
which has all the instructions on it, for example, thickness, plies,
colour, inner liner thickness, and other special instructions
- The production supervisors at random, check few pieces from every
lot, for thickness variations and to see if the overlap of
outer ply is as per requirement.
- The oven has a siren, so that if temperature exceeds requirement,
the supervisor is alerted. A log book is also maintained to record
oven temperatures at various time intervals.
- Dimensional checking of finished product is done as per sampling
plan
- Continual Statistic Process Control on Fluorosilicone lining
- Statistical Process control on "defects" in inspection
department
- Visual checking is 100% on finished product
- If there is flurosilicone or FPM inner liner, we check for damage
100% through magnifying glass.
- Burst pressure of all hoses are checked as per sampling plan.
Vacuum pressure is also checked for hoses where it is specified on
drawing. This is done as per sampling plan.
- If there are metal inserts or couplings, we check 100% of the
hoses for leakage at 2 bar pressure.
- Cutting of hoses is as per jigs, which are validated from time to
time
- Packed goods are checked and signed off on labels, to make sure
there are no short supplies. While doing so, the person signing also
checks for cleanliness and printing requirements being fulfilled.
